ISO 22301 standard refers to the Business Continuity Management System. Its specificity relates to the requirements for planning, establishing, applying, functioning, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and continually improving the documented management system, with the aim of increasing protection against incidents in emergencies (elementary disasters or unrest), which, in a certain way, can disturb business. This system exists to reduce the likelihood of their occurrence and enable as much preparation as possible in case of their occurrence, as well as recovery in adverse effects.
This international standard applies the Plan (Plan) – Do (Do) – Check – Act (PDC) model. This principle of operation provides a degree of consistency with other standards for management systems, such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), ISO / IEC 27001 (Information Security Management System), ISO / IEC 20000 (IT – management of services). In this way, it supports consistent and integrated application, as well as the functioning with associated management systems.
